Wandering From One Adventure to the Next

October is National Roller Skating Month.


The 4-wheeled roller skate as we know it today was invented by a gent named James L. Plimpton in the year 1858. Seeing that previous in-line “dry-skate” models that took after the ice skate were difficult to maneuver, Plimpton created a skate with two axles and attached them to a cushioned base to allow for maneuverability.
Thanks to that dude, we have the skates we know and love today (not pictured here).
